Bryan Muehlberger and Frank Blackwell, fathers of 14-year-old Gracie Anne Muehlberger and 15-year-old Dominic Blackwell, joined the state of California and former U.S. Rep. Gabby Gifford’s anti-gun-violence foundation in suing the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives on Tuesday, Sept. 29.
They’re arguing the ATF is refusing to use its authority to regulate “ghosts guns,” weapons that can be built at home using kits found online to fashion working firearms out of unfinished pistol frames and rifle receivers.
The federal lawsuit aims to tighten up the law.
