From the Office of Councilmember Koretz: Following an increase in shootings, gun-related homicides and a surge in the number of “ghost guns”--low-cost, unfinished, non-serialized guns often marketed to those who are unable to purchase firearms legally--Los Angeles City Councilmembers Paul Koretz and Paul Krerkorian co-presented a motion requesting the City Attorney to draft an ordinance prohibiting the possession, purchase, sale, receipt and transportation of non-serialized, unfinished frames and unfinished receivers, and non-serialized firearms within the City of Los Angeles.
ABC7 covered the news here.
The motion will go next to the Public Safety Committee. UPDATE: the motion is scheduled to be hear the week of 8/23/21 by the full council!
