We agree wholeheartedly and would take their words even further. We've seen what gun violence can do to communities in crisis. If we don't thoughtfully and thoroughly address racial inequities in California and across the country, we are headed for a nation of heavily armed extremists and vigil antes confronting peaceful first amendment protests. We don't have to theorize here--we know that leads to bloodshed.
