A year ago, Governor Newsom signed AB 521 (Berman), which authorizes the University of California Firearm Violence Research Center at UC Davis to develop multifaceted education and training programs for medical and mental health providers on the prevention of firearm-related injury and death.

This site has been named BulletPoints Project and provides trainings, reports, and data to ensure that medical professionals have all the tools available to provide appropriate assistance to a patient in danger of, or potentially committing, gun violence The site utilizes the expertise of leading medical providers, researchers, gun owners, and legal experts to provide nuanced but effective approaches to addressing risks of firearm access with patients and to intervene when someone is at increased risk. It touches upon all aspects of gun violence in a community; unintentional shootings, mass shootings, suicide, domestic violence, and others to effectively cast a broad net to keep more people out of harms way.

Go check it out today, show it to people in your circle, reach out to your medical professional and inform them on this website. The more people we can introduce to the data, the more effective it will become.

Due to COVID, the training is currently virtual
